Fast boats from Sanur run all morning, and we are fifteen minutes from where they dock. A short guide to the crossing.
Nusa Penida is close to Bali but not quite casual to reach. The crossing is straightforward once you know the shape of the day.
The crossing
Fast boats leave Sanur through the morning and take 30 to 45 minutes to Banjar Nyuh Harbour. Book the earliest departure you can stand: the sea builds through the day, and an afternoon crossing is a different experience from a 8am one.
From the harbour
We are fifteen minutes from Banjar Nyuh. Tell us your boat and we will arrange a pickup — the harbour is busy and the drivers waiting there are not always the cheapest option.
Getting around once you are here
Most guests hire a scooter. The main roads on the north coast are good; the west-coast routes to Kelingking are steep and narrow in places. If you are not a confident rider, a car and driver for the day costs less than most people expect and we can book one.
